About ‘de Damen’
In 2018, the D.S.R.V “Laga” will organise the sixth annual Damen Raceroei Regatta. After last year’s edition, the organising committee immediately set to work to make the sixth edition as unique an event as the previous. During the previous five years the Damen has succesfully developed and at the same time survived a serious increase in the number of competitors.
The Damen Raceroei Regatta focuses on (sub)top rowers. It is the ideal moment to face off with the rest of the Dutch rowing scene. A regatta where the races are all that matter. For both upcoming juniors and upcoming seniors, the Damen Raceroei Regatta provides the ideal circumstances to claim victory from the current elite. No mile-long list of events: just a small number of well-filled ones to make for a real battle of the titans on the newest Dutch racing venue where biased lanes are a thing of the past: the Willem-Alexander Baan.
For the organising committee, the most important thing is that athletes are optimally supported in their attempt to row the race of a lifetime. We will go out of our way to make sure the athletes have nothing to wish for: a healthy, carb-stacking lunch will be provided, as well as massages for inbetween races.
The Damen Raceroei Regatta’s vision is perfectly in line with the ambitions of both the Dutch Rowing Federation (KNRB) . Every aspect of rowing in Holland needs to be organised professionally if we want to carry the sport to another level. Rowing is a beautiful sport, but relatively unheard of in the Netherlands. The organising committee aims to bring the sport of competitive rowing to a bigger audience at the Damen Raceroei Regatta: spectators will be one of our main priorities. Information booklets and informative commentary will make for an interactive rowing experience, even for those that have never been at a regatta before!
Do you want to enjoy a weekend of truly spectacular races, top-of-the-line facilities and many other activities? Be sure to drop by on the 5th and 6th of May 2018!
